Day 1

Departing from Sydney on Friday morning we stop for morning coffee at the beautiful Hawkesbury River before visiting a few of the smaller and more picturesque wineries in the Hunter Valley and not forgetting the “smelly cheese shop”.

We then continue on via the viewpoint over the valley from Sugarloaf Mountain to our base for the next 2 nights in Australia’s seventh largest city, Newcastle. On our first evening we have a cook up together, usually a beach barbeque (weather permitting then maybe head for a drink at one of the cities vibrant pubs.

Day 2

An action packed day in the Port Stephens area including a dolphin spotting trip with 99% dolphin sightings and an opportunity to swim with them, a walk up to the stunning Tomaree lookout, Some four wheel driving and sand boarding on the largest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere on NSW’’s longest beach Stockton (32KM).

Then maybe a snorkel at Sanctuary Cove or a visit to Murray’s micro-brewery before we return to Newcastle for a traditional Aussie pub meal

Day 3

On the morning of day 3 (Sunday) you have some free time in Newcastle to explore some of the city’s arts and craft shops, have a leisurely coffee or brunch and appreciate some of the beautiful federation architecture of Australia’s second oldest city or perhaps walk along its newly regenerated waterfront area on the Hunter River.

On our return journey to Sydney we make a stop at Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest saltwater lake and go for walk to one of the beautiful beaches on the Central Coat. We usually arrive back in Sydney around 6.00p.m after a memorable weekend and possibly having made some new friends.

Our second day is full of both beauty and excitement as we enjoy a sand duning trip to Tin City on NSW’s longest Beach, Stockton and some dune boarding. Together with a dolphin watching cruise in beautiful Port Stephens and some exploring of the area. We spend our evenings based in Australia’s second oldest City, Newcastle and give you some free time to explore and discover why Lonely planet voted it one of the top 10 cities in the world in 2010
