5 Day PADI Open Water Course

Course includes 2 days pool and theory in our training facility, followed by 3 day trips to the Great Barrier Reef including 4 training dives 3 dives for pleasure and experience - total 7 dives

The schedule for the PADI Open Water Dive Course is as follows;

Day 1 & 2 - Pool and Classroom
You will be picked up from your central Cairns Accommodation at approx 7.30am on Days 1 & 2, and delivered to the Dive School.

You will spend the day here attending the dive class and training in the pool until approx 5pm, when you will be driven back to your accommodation. We recommend that you bring swimwear, towel and additional money to make any lunch/drinks/snack purchases.

Day 3 & 4 - Outer Reef Day Trips
Your instructor will collect you from your accommodation at approx 7.30am on both mornings and you will be travelling onboard our day boat, Osprey V, to the Outer Reef. You will be doing 2 training dives on each day. BBQ lunch will be provided onboard the boat on these days. We recommend that you bring additional money for purchases/drinks/snacks onboard. Please note that these 2 days are individual day trips. You will still require accommodation in Cairns each evening.

Day 5 (Fun Dives)
Full Day Cruise on our premium vessel Osprey V with 3 certified fun dives.

This large modern mono-hull vessel offers over 5 hours at 2 amazing outer reef locations, and with activities for the whole family the Osprey provides the perfect day out at great value.

The Osprey departs daily from Cairns at 8:30am and returns at approx. 5:00pm. Enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch including fish, steak, sausages, vegetarian, tropical salads and pastas. Then relax in comfort in the modern air-conditioned lounges or laze around on the spacious sundeck after joining the many in-water activities.

On the way home sing along with the on-board entertainer Elvis as he sings and performs his famous didgeridoo show.

For the Snorkellers:
Whether you’re a non-swimmer or an Olympic medallist Down Under Cruise & Dive caters for everyone. With professional Divemasters, specialised flotation devices and FREE dedicated snorkel guides, you'll feel safe in the water whatever your experience level.

For the Certified Divers:
With over 12 exclusive dive sites, the Osprey provides great options for the certified diver. Dedicated Divemasters/Instructors maintain the utmost safety while allowing you to explore to the limits.

For the Introductory Divers:
No experience necessary! Experience the reef the way the fish do in perfect safety, by taking a dive around the reef with one of their professional Dive Instructors. If you’re not sure try the FREE 5 minute trial before you dive!
